HISTORY

English Paper Company was founded in 2002 by Whitney Kolb. Only twenty-three years old at the time, she pooled her baby-sitting money to pay for the first print run of cards. The story from there isn’t Whitney’s to tell: she quickly gives credit to her parents, friends, and employees-turned-friends who chipped in over the next several years.

As the story goes, they broke some serious ground in 2006, and celebrated with a Christmas party and champagne, which introduced Whitney’s husband, David, onto the scene. Two years later, he was certified to run an HP Indigo printing press, and Whitney was designing as fast as she could. They quickly realized that they loved running a business, and would love to sell other designers’ creativity, as well as Whitney’s, and acquired Hicks Paper Goods.

The rest, as they say, is history. Whitney had met lots of talented designers over the years, so at the end of 2009, she pooled a fabulous group of gals to spearhead a completely new branch of the industry, and six months later they debuted GetPapered.com, the first marketing-service oriented website geared towards the wholesale stationery industry.

Today, English Paper Company houses several nationally-recognized and highly-esteemed stationery brands.  In a wholesale capacity, we cater to storefront businesses as well as internet retailers, and strive for excellence as we serve as your marketing, customer service, fulfillment and accounting contact for these lines. To date, our brand collection includes Twist Paper, Ruby June Celebrates and Askew Design. In 2010, we partnered with Oh, How Lovely, French Blue Designs and Sharp and Sally, and were delighted to add Emily Ley Paper in 2011.
